Around April of 1995, my friend, Pete Comely (aka Pete Painful on the release)
asked to record some tracks he could collaborate with. From May, 1995 through July, 1995 I recorded the base track(s) that were to evolve into "Harmonia Forest At Dawn". Then I sent the two track cassette to Pete for his part.
From July, 1995 through September, 1995 I recorded the tracks for "Island Of Lost Plants". These tracks were also sent to Pete on a stereo cassette for further work.
In early fall of 1997, Pete sent me base tracks to work with and from October, 1997 through January, 1998.I worked on the composition named "Zoar Valley" using those tracks.
The final versions were released in April, 1998, originally on one forty five minute cassette, then on two CD's.
For each composition, we would send tapes back and forth for review, suggestion, (friendly) disagreement and final approval. This was the longest (three years) collaboration I had been involved with and I feel it shows in the final release. Pete's commitment to quality and superior production shows throughout. I'm very proud of what we did and am very happy to make it available to the general public via archive dot org.
Pete mixed this release digitally (a first for him) on an early DAW called TripleDAT, made by a company called Creamware.
My equipment at this time: ARP 2600, ARP Odyssey, ARP Sequencer, Roland TR-707 Drum machine, modified Casio keyboard, Digitech 7.6 Delay, several effects "stomp" boxes and some home made synthesizer modules.
